Where's Your Stance...?

We just held our season launch and it couldn't of gone any smoother. Yeah right though, mother nature said "hold my beer". It was windy, it was cold, and it was rainy. If it is just one of these factors, cool let's have a car meet. But when it is all these factors, sane minds might of called off the meet. I decided to roll the bones and go for it. Much to my suprise you guys showed up and our season launch kind of got lit.

I arrived early to set up and to be completely honest I had second thoughts about the meet. Although there were a few cars pulling in and parking, I still took my time before getting out of the car. Sure enough, as one pulled in to park so came another one and then another and so on an so on. Ok, now it's time to get my butt out into the cold, wet and windy of a day.

My biggest fear was the wind and the possibility of having my canopy blown away. Luckily I was somewhat prepared and brought weights and sandbags to anchor my canopy. No matter how prepared I thought I was, my buddy Mykee from Scrape Artist blew my mind with his level of preparedness.

Scrape Artist and I put our canopies together and then secured a wall around our canopies made from tarps. Then Scrape Artist busted out a legit heater. I was amazed he had thought this out so thoroughly. So from the outside our setup may have looked like a shanty town but on the inside, we were keeping people warm.

Just like the weather didn't let up, so were the amount of cars that kept coming to join the festivities. It was one after another and I sincerely was shocked. To see people wanting to have their cars judged and spectators just enjoying themselves in this less than ideal weather, really made me tingle on the inside.

For this season we are introducing a scorecard judging system and to just bring some transparency to judging in general. This season opener was the first time we implemented this new system and it seemed like people were taking to this idea.

I feel like it legitimizes the awards and at the end of the day, if you want to see your score you can have your scorecard back. I think the scorecards made things smoother and we will continue to use them for our events in the future. Tell us what you think of the new scorecard system.

Again, I still can't believe so many people even showed up. On top of that, the cars that did make it out were of a high caliber. Like Nick's ol' school volvo, Carlos' miata and Dmitriy's Subaru, all of which went home winners.

One person really stole my heart and that was David and his Audi. David came all the way from beyond Green Bay Wisconsin to partake in the festivities. A true dedicated petrolhead and I thank you again for coming out. I enjoyed you and your audi.

Big thanks to our location host Prestige Auto Spa. Like I said at the award ceremony, I have no words that can describe the amount of gratitude and appreciation I have for all of you that made our season launch so special. This was definitely an experience to remember.
