Every year I go to the auto show, it's like my unofficial start to the season. This year is no different and I headed to the city with a friend this time to check it out. I was curious to see what flagship vehicles would be in attendance from the likes of Ford, Honda and Alpha Romeo . The civic type R, focus RS and the new alfa romeo sport sedan have been getting a lot of attention as of late from their internet videos and I was excited to see these in person.
Unfortunately the civic type R was not in attendance. Instead, Red Bull Racing's Global Rallycross spec 2016 Civic took centerstage. If you are unfamiliar with Rally Cross or the new Civic, take a look at the video below.
An interesting race series to say the least. Asphalt to dirt with a bunch of jumps in the same lap, this circuit racing series is action packed. A very cool racing series that has the likes of Top Gear USA Tanner Foust and X-games champions like Buckey Lasek, Brian Deegan.
We know honda is no stranger to the race track. From two wheels to four wheels, Honda's pedigree in racing is a testament to its prestigious championship history.
The NSX is a big part of not only honda history but motorsports overall. The original NSX was ahead of it's time being the first all aluminum body manufactured from the factory. The hype surrounding the NSX is real and I can't wait to see this beauty on the track or the street.
The beetle, surprisingly happens to be dominating the Global rallycross series. This Volkswagen is no longer just a chick car.
The Subaru exhibit did not disappoint with their Race car STI. The level of fabrication is only second to NASA, as this STI is ready to rocket out of the corners.
The porsche 911 is arguably the best handling car ever. So when the chassis is lightened and stiffened, a wide body installed with bigger wheels and better brakes; this combination adds up to the 911 RSR. The swan neck wing and rear diffuser only add to the seriousness of the aerodynamics.
While Audi displayed their racing heritage in a unique way. Otherwise, their section was full of their S-series line up.
The iconic miata hasn't lost a step with their newest generation. Known for their highly fun to drive factor, the miata is a go to platform for a lot of racers.
