KOTS 2016

King of the streets has become the epitome of grudge racing in the midwest. The baddest racers gather at Great Lakes Dragway to put up or shut up. The competition is broken down into classes and each class has its rules to follow.

One common rule is "No Prep" racing for all classe. This means that when you roll up to the starting line, a burn out to heat up the tires is all thats allowed before launching down the strip.

Competion classes are broken down as follows :

Senior class - 275 drag radials, no wheelie bars and 1/8th mile

Gangster - any 26in tire, no wheelie bars and quarter mile

Junior - 26in drag radials, plates, insurance, working lights, horn and wipers, stock suspension and no wheelie bars and quater mile

Unlimited - any car , any tire , 1/8th mile

The racing is intense and the crowd eats up the action. Getting in the action is not limited to just racing. Many side bets are placed in the stands which makes for even more entertainment.

Aside from the racing, this year a car show was added, so lets take a walk around Great Lakes Dragway and check out this exhilerating event.
