Dwights Quest 1000hp TSI

Dwight's quest for 1000 horsepower starts with an eagle talon tsi. Unknowingly, Dwight came across the DSM scene by accident. Wanting a reliable car to take him to and from work which was also good on gas. The TSI fell into dwight's lap.

Then the talon rolled on with its commuter life, oblivious to the full potential of the chassis. Being his first stick shift car, the learning process created a bond between man and machine. The time of enlightenment came when at the drag strip and realized that this car could be fast.

Once the truth of the TSI chassis came to light, dwight's intentions were to make it an absolute killer streetcar. Like most, the car started off as a parking lot queen but quickly turned into an all out build. That first time at the dragstrip left dwight feeling some type of way about his TSI and the road ahead would be filled with trials and tribulations.

When one's goal is 1000hp literally everything inside and out is replaced and all supporting modifications are upgraded. From the knife-edged crank, pauter rods, and custom arias pistons, the whole rotating assembly has been balanced.

FFWD King Kams control the valves opening and closing duties. The spent gases are compressed by the a huge 1.00 a/r CT43 6767 Comp Turbo. All the wizardry is kept in control by utilizing an AEM V2 engine management system.

Getting all the power down to the ground is a factory trans that's been refitted with parts strong enough to handle the power. Custom front and rear axles, twin disc heavy duty clutch, and new gears, bushings and differential take care of the job. Slotted rotors and upgraded pads along with KYB shocks and Eibach springs take care of the handling and stopping duties.

All the pieces in place led to Dyno day. Dwight entrusted the folks at R&D performance, a shop that has a knack for the dsm scene and figured out how to extract the full potential of these 4g63 motors.

Nothing ever goes as planned especially with high horsepower builds and this one was none the different. The first dyno run the car ran on 3 cylinders and still made 750hp. The second dyno trip, the car had some fuel issues. Despite the hiccups Dwight remands determined to reach the full potential of his Eagle Talon TSI.

A complete pleasure meeting dwight and his TSI. Thanks to Milton from the Beyond Boost Crew for introduction. Enjoy the video...
