Back to the Grid Project Ek9

Sometimes life gives you lemons, sometimes life steals your car and sometimes life has you go through a long drawn out custody battle. Whatever life decides to throw your way, we have to learn how to roll with the punches. Though through these adversities I've remained dedicated to my Ek and passionate about my vtec power plant.

I seen a quote recently that went something along the lines..." Almost every man can overcome/ endure adversity but to test a man's real character give him power." Being that I am "stance down low". I realize how my words can influence and affect people.

As we progress with the documentation of our Ek9 build I may remind you, the reader, of the number one rule. The number one rule is to believe in yourself. Believing in yourself is the first step to accomplishing anything.

My first ek9 was stolen and to be honest, it is entirely my fault. I was thinking with my other head to say the least. The city don't play and I learned my lesson the hard way. Sucks because that one was loaded with skunk2 and buddy club goodies.

From here, the search for a new hatch begun. I found a black ek9 and fell in love when I popped the hood. With a jdm h22a red top sitting pretty in the engine bay, I knew I had found the one.

I drove it home and parked it in the garage. Where it has been sitting for the last 3yrs. Shortly after gaining possession of the new ek, I had a baby. The baby momma n I didn't work out. So with a lot of court and money spent later, I feel that I can finally focus on what got me started in the first place.

The whole reason I started Stance Down Low was to document the experiences I have with my car, the places we go together and the people we meet. So this is just the beginning of a new chapter in the story we call life.

I couldn't be more excited to share my journey with you. The next installment, we will dive into the list of parts, where I got them, why I choose these parts and break down all the information for you.
